Artist's Statement

I am an artist. Some may call me a craftsman. Some may call me a woodworker. I might be those things also, but first I am an artist. I never expected it. I never planned on it. But apparently it was always in me, I just hadn't found my own way to express it.
Now, I turn random chunks of wood into unique pieces of art. My style is organic, figuratively. My material is organic, literally. As I subtract material, I add to a creation. A one-of-a-kind creation. It is not art only when in a museum or gallery. It is intrinsically art. Wood may be the material; but art is the substance. It was always in there, hiding, but I'm the one who found it.
